Sodium sulfate Na2SO4 CAS: 7757-82-6; 15124-09-1 Detergent Cooking agent soda ash; making sodium sulfide sodium silicate
Basic information
Nature
1. White orthogonal bipyramidal crystal or crystalline powder. Bitter and salty, odorless
2. Insoluble in alcohol and ether at room temperature, but soluble in water, at high temperatures, sodium sulfate can be decomposed
3. With hygroscopicity, if exposed to the air for a long time, it will gradually absorb water and become wet
Purpose
1. Preparation of sulfuric acid and other important raw materials for sulfates
2. Mainly used as filler for synthetic detergent
3. Widely used in glass manufacturing, leather and textile industry acid washing agent and auxiliary, paper industry for the manufacture of sulfate pulp cooking agent, glass industry to replace soda ash, textile industry for vinylon spinning coagulation bath
4. It is often used in metallurgy, paper making, dyes and fertilizers
5. The chemical industry is used as raw materials for the manufacture of sodium sulfide, sodium silicate and other chemical products
6. The pharmaceutical industry is used as a laxative
Security
Should be stored in a ventilated, dry warehouse. In summer or high temperature areas easy to dissolve and form large pieces, storage and transportation should be moisture-proof, rainproof. Be careful not to be punctured by iron nails or hard objects with sharp tips and corners, causing product leakage. Do not mix with food, coal, cement, etc. to prevent contamination. In case of fire, it can be put out with water and various fire extinguishers.
Precautions and Transportation
Storage method
1. It should be stored in a ventilated and dry warehouse.
2. In summer or areas with high temperatures, it is easy to dissolve and form large blocks. During storage and transportation, it should be moisture-proof and rainproof.
3. Be careful not to be punctured by iron nails or sharp pointed or angular hard objects, which may cause product leakage.
Storage precautions
Store in a cool and ventilated warehouse. Stay away from sparks and heat sources. It should be stored separately from acids and should not be stored together. The storage area should be equipped with appropriate materials to contain leaked materials.
